FACULTY ASSESSMENT

What are some helpful tools in conducting faculty assessment?:

1. Self-directed reflection  allows faculty to assess their current abilities vis-à-vis career growth or

    direction.

2. A faculty development plan shows the activities a faculty member has for the future, in connection with             his or her career and consistent with the Institute’s mission.

3. A faculty portfolio is a compilation of academic accomplishments performed by a faculty member in a

school year, which may be used to document faculty performance, development, and contributions to

teaching, research, and service to the community. This portfolio is submitted to the Dean, and may form

part of performance evaluation and potential promotion.
